This is the official site of Shane Howard, Australian singer / songwriter, guitarist and author. Since 1987 after his days as the mainstay of folk rock group Goanna which had hits with Solid Rock and Let the Franklin Flow, Shane has pursued a solo career and is now at the pinacle of his craft and is regularly writing, recording and touring.

October 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the iconic song Solid Rock, the landmark song from the album, Spirit of Place, by legendary Australian band. Written by Shane Howard Solid Rock was one of the first songs of its idiom to broach the subject of the injustice that Aboriginal people had suffered in Australia and impacted powerfully on an entire generation.

Shane Howard celebrates the 30th Anniversary through the release of a new album The Other Side of The Rock and accompanying concerts to celebrate a thirty year journey since the release of Solid Rock.
